Villefranche-sur-Mer's shore dive starts from the old port and follows a rocky reef to a small cave system at 12 meters — a Mediterranean classic for beginners with octopus, moray eels, and nudibranchs in warm, sheltered water. The Oceanographic Observatory above the dive site has studied these waters since 1882.
