The Elevator, also known as Skulls Cave, is a thrilling advanced cave dive site on Lanzarote's northeast coast near Mala. This site features a vertical chimney-like formation in the volcanic rock that divers descend through, creating the sensation of riding an elevator into the deep. The cave system opens into chambers decorated with volcanic formations and inhabited by shrimp, sponges, and the occasional resting angel shark. Outside the cave entrance, the reef is alive with groupers, barracuda, and large schools of Atlantic fish. Strong currents and the overhead environment require proper cave diving training and experience, making this a site reserved for advanced divers.
