Stewpot on San Salvador is an intermediate dive site where a natural bowl-shaped depression in the reef creates a sheltered amphitheater alive with marine life. The sandy bottom of the bowl at 15 meters is often visited by southern stingrays and yellowhead jawfish peeking from their burrows. The surrounding reef walls rise to 5 meters and are covered with brain corals, star corals, and colorful christmas tree worms. The protected nature of the bowl means calm conditions even when surface seas are rough, making it a reliable dive in any weather.
